What is a Business Day?

In legal world, a business day is any day from Monday through Friday though some businesses don’t open on Fridays but conventionally, business days are from Monday to Friday because these are the days in every week businesses, organizations and offices open.

Weekends are not included in business days, so whenever you see check back in 10 business days, it means only certain days are to be counted. If the business doesn’t open on Fridays, then they are asking you to only check back from Monday to Thursday and that is what will form the basis of your calculations when checking if the 10 business days have completed.
How Long is 10 Business Days?
10 business days is up to 2 weeks. If you are asked to check back after 10 business days, it means come back on the Friday of the second week. That is you should only count first Monday to Friday which is 5 business days and then on the second week – Monday to Friday(10th business day) then you check back for a response.
Weekends are excluded and if unluckily for you the Friday is a public holiday, it means you would have to check back on Monday for a response as public holidays and weekends are not included in working or business days. This also applies for all business days no matter the number of business days you are asked to come back. If it’s three business days and you got the mail or information on a weekend, it means check back on Wednesday.
